Submit a Tip

ATF Tips

Anonymous tips may also be submitted to ATF through the ReportIt® mobile app, available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, or by visiting the ReportIt website from your computer (desktop.reportit.com) or phone (mobile.reportit.com). The website and apps allow users to confidentially submit tips about crimes that involve firearms, violent crime, explosives and arson.

Important: Agricultural retailers or anyone who encounters a stranger or suspicious person whom you suspect is purchasing ammonium nitrate fertilizer or other agricultural products for criminal purposes, please pay attention to the person's description and attire, attempt to discreetly obtain a vehicle license number, and immediately call 1-800-800-3855 or your nearest local law enforcement agency.

Report Theft or Loss

Firearms

ATF does not take reports of stolen firearms from private citizens. Any Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) who has knowledge of the theft or loss of any firearms from their inventory must report such theft or loss within 48 hours of discovery to ATF and to the local law enforcement agency. Please visit the How to Report Firearms Theft / Loss page for detailed instructions.

If you are an FFL with questions about the reporting of theft or loss of firearms, contact ATF's Stolen Firearms Program Manager toll free at 1-888-930-9275. They can also assist in the preparation of the Theft / Loss Report for submission.

Explosive Materials

Any person who has knowledge of the theft or loss of any explosive materials from their stock must report such theft or loss within 24 hours of discovery to ATF and to appropriate local authorities.  Please visit the How to Report Explosives Theft / Loss page for detailed instructions.

Type 60 Coupon

In the event of the loss, theft or destruction of an ATF Form 5400.30 (Type 60 coupon), upon discovery the coupon holder should immediately contact ATF at 1-888-ATF-BOMB (1-888-283-2662) and do so within 24 hours of discovery.
