Prohibition Agent Frank Matuskowitz traveled by train from Philadelphia to Scranton, PA. He was scheduled to meet and assist other agents who were attempting to apprehend a notorious bootlegger. As the train approached the town of Pittston, it was involved in an accident and Agent Matuskowitz was killed.

Agent Matuskowitz joined the Prohibition Unit on February 11, 1920, with an annual salary of $1,500. He was among the first groups of new agents assigned to enforce the National Prohibition Act.
