Cara is a Public Affairs Specialist from ATF Headquarters who has been with the bureau for just over a year. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in international studies. Prior to starting her ATF career, Cara, who speaks French and Arabic, spent multiple years abroad as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco and as an English teacher in France.  When Cara returned to the United States, she worked various roles throughout the State Department for seven years.

Cara was inspired by her parents as she watched them dedicate themselves to causes that gave their lives meaning and purpose. She was drawn to a career in public service because she wanted to make a positive impact in her community, and she feels a great sense of pride being able to tell the story of the women and men of the ATF. Personally, Cara enjoys long-distance running, yoga, hiking, and Latin dance.

Thank you, Cara, for your contributions to the ATF. We appreciate the unique qualities of each of our employees. It’s what makes ATF collectively better.
