ATF Offers Reward in Police Officer Shooting
ATF, Phoenix Police and Silent Witness seek information leading to the arrest of Nicholas Cody Cowan
Phoenix – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in conjunction with the Phoenix Police Department and Silent Witness, a non-profit program created to give citizens the opportunity to remain anonymous while assisting law enforcement, are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of Nicholas Cody Cowan in the shooting of a Phoenix police officer.
A Phoenix police officer was investigating a possible domestic violence incident on April 14 when shot by Nicholas Cody Cowan. The suspect exchanged gunfire with another officer before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The vehicle has since been recovered; however, the suspect is still at-large. ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000, which will match the reward previously announced by Silent Witness, for a total reward of up to $10,000, leading to the arrest of Nicholas Cody Cowan.
“Yesterday’s shooting is a grim reminder of the sacrifice that police officers are willing to make to keep our communities safe,” ATF Acting Special Agent in Charge Brent Beavers said. “ATF, working with our law enforcement partners, will not rest until this suspect is located and brought to justice.”
