Investigators Determine Cause of Evansville Fire
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Evansville Fire Department, the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Evansville Police Department, the Columbus Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and ATF’s National Response Team have concluded that the warehouse fire last week at 1400 N. Garvin Street was caused by an electrical accident.
The investigation, led by NRT Supervisor David Oliver, concluded over the weekend and an out-briefing was conducted this morning. The team reached its conclusion after an extensive examination of the fire scene during the past week.
The NRT, along with ATF special agents from the Indianapolis Offices of the Columbus Field Division responded with Evansville Fire Department, the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Evansville Police Department.
