Activity in the U.S. Attorney's Office

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Zachary Thomas Stott, age 30, of Gillette, Wyoming, was sentenced to 143 months and nine days for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Senior U.S. District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal imposed the sentence on Dec. 15. According to court documents, on Oct. 7, 2022, Stott was pulled over by the Casper Police Department. Controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and a firearm were located in his vehicle. The defendant admitted that everything belonged to him. Stott is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms. This crime was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Casper Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan C. Coppom.
