Paperwork Reduction Act Extension of an Existing Information Collection
Purpose: 
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on May 22, 2015. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides an additional 30 days for public comment on the extension of an existing collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the Safe Explosives Act requirement that an explosives distributor must verify the identity of the purchaser; an explosives purchaser must provide a copy of the license/permit to distributor prior to the purchase of explosive materials; possessors of explosive materials must provide a list of explosives storage locations; purchasers of explosive materials must provide a list of representatives authorized to purchase on behalf of the distribute; and an explosive purchaser must provide a statement of intended use for the explosives.
