Paperwork Reduction Act Notice on Extension of an Existing Information Collection
Purpose:
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 60 days for public comment on the proposed extension of the existing form. The proposed information collection pertains to the questionnaire form completed by individuals interviewed by contract investigators conducting security/suitability investigations on prospective or current employees, as well as those contractors and consultants doing business on behalf of ATF. The form allows randomly selected individuals interviewed by contract investigators to voluntarily complete a questionnaire regarding the investigator’s degree of professionalism.
