The nonimmigrant alien information will be used to determine if a nonimmigrant alien is eligible to obtain a federal firearms license and purchase, obtain, possess, or import a firearm. Nonimmigrant aliens also must maintain the documents while in possession of firearms or ammunition in the United States for verification purposes. Information Collection (IC) OMB # 1140–0060 is being revised to reflect an increase in costs. The number of persons who annually submit ATF Form 6NIA has increased since this information collection was last renewed.
