The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on November 29, 2016. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the revision of a currently approved collection. The proposed information collection pertains to ATF Form 3311.4. The form provides a uniform mean for industry members with a valid Federal importer or manufacturer license to request firearms marking variance.
