Paperwork Reduction Act Revision of a Currently Approved Information Collection
Purpose:
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on March 14, 2017. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the revision of a currently approved collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the form that is used to transfer National Firearms Act (NFA) regulated items between Federal firearms licensees (FFL)/Special Occupational Tax (SOT) payers to be exempted from the transfer tax incurred for each item.
