Pursuant to a seizure warrant issued by the United States District Court for the District of Utah, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has seized the website www.darksidedefense.com. 

The seizure warrant was issued based on the Court’s finding of probable cause that the website facilitated the unlawful sale of items marketed as “solvent traps.”  ATF has determined that these “solvent traps” are, in fact, silencers.  Silencers are firearms that are subject to the licensing and registration provisions of the National Firearms Act (NFA).  Title 26, United States Code, Sections 5801-5872.  

It is a violation of the NFA to manufacture, receive, transport, or deliver a silencer that has not been registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.  Title 26, United States Code, Section 5861.
