The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on August 31, 2016. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the revision of a currently approved collection. The proposed information collection pertains to ATF Form 9 (5320.9). The application and subsequent permit are used to permanently export NFA firearms registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record outside of the United States.
