Paperwork Reduction Act Revision of a Currently Approved Information Collection
Purpose: 
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on February 17, 2016. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the revision of a currently approved collection. The proposed information collection pertains to ATF Form 4 (5320.4). This form is filed by persons applying for a tax paid transfer and registration of a National Firearms Act (NFA) firearm. The approval of the application effectuates the registration of a firearm to the transferee.
