Paperwork Reduction Act Revision of a Currently Approved Information Collection
Purpose: 
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 60 days for public comment on the revision of a currently approved collection. The proposed information collection pertains to ATF Form 4 (5320.4). This form is filed by persons applying for a tax paid transfer and registration of a National Firearms Act (NFA) firearm. The approval of the application effectuates the registration of a firearm to the transferee.
