Purpose: 
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 60 days for public comment on a new collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the amendment to the CCTA, which requires any person who ships or sells more than 10,000 cigarettes or more than 500 smokeless tobacco single-unit cans total in a month must to record and report the beginning and ending inventory of tobacco products; the total quantity of tobacco products received (itemized by name and address); and the total quantity of tobacco products distributed (itemized by name and address).
