Identification of Imported Explosive Materials (OMB Number 1140–0062)

Action:
Paperwork Reduction Act Notice on Extension of an Existing Information Collection
Purpose:
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on March 17, 2015. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides an additional 30 days for the public to comment on the revision to the existing collection. The proposed information collection relates to necessary information to ensure explosive materials can be effectively traced. All licensed importers are required to identify by marking all explosive materials they import for sale or distribution, thereby providing valuable information in explosion and bombing investigations.
