The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. This proposed form was previously published in the Federal Register on Nov. 25, 2014. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides an additional 30 days for additional public comment on the revision of an existing collection. The proposed information collection pertains to information requested on a form that will be used by ATF to determine whether the individual is qualified to be a responsible person in a firearms business or as a collector. The form will also be used to add responsible persons to existing federal firearms licenses.
