Action:
Paperwork Reduction Act Notice on Information Collection/Form (New)
Purpose:
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. This proposed information collection (forms) was previously published in the Federal Register April 2, 2014. Consistent with the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides an additional 30 days for additional public comment on the forms. The forms relate to the Contraband Cigarette Trafficking Act (CCTA), as amended, which requires a person who sells more than 10,000 cigarettes or more than 500 single-unit consumer-sized cans or packages of smokeless tobacco per month and conducts non-face-to-face consumer sales to report to ATF specific information regarding their inventory and those sales. These forms are used to assist in identifying persons or businesses that are selling and moving tobacco products illegally.
