Prohibition Agent Clyde "Doc" Taylor suffered a fatal heart attack shortly after being involved in a shooting altercation and the arrest of a moonshiner in Leadville, CO.

Background

Agent Taylor joined the Prohibition Unit on July 1, 1924, and was assigned to the Denver field office.  Agent Taylor was nicknamed "Doc" because he held a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.  Previously, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Spanish-American War (1898 to 1899) and World War I (1918 to 1919).  He was commissioned a 1st Lieutenant during World War I.

Agent Taylor was born in Belleville, IL.  He was survived by his wife, Theresa.
