ATF Offers Additional $10,000, Totaling $20,000 Reward for Information Regarding December 2 Mass Shooting in Gage Park Neighborhood

CHICAGO – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, in coordination with the Chicago Police Department and Cook County CrimeStoppers is seeking the public’s assistance in locating person(s) of interest involved in a mass shooting that occurred on Monday, December 2 at approximately 2:10 p.m. at the 3500 block of West 59th Street, between St. Louis and Central Park Avenues. Nine people were shot, all between the ages of 20 and 35; three of the men succumbed to their injuries. The reward of up to $10,000 is for the positive identification, location and apprehension of those involved. CrimeStoppers is offering an additional $10,000 for a reward total of up to $20,000.

People with information regarding the identity and/or whereabouts of those involved are urged to contact the Cook County CrimeStoppers 1-800-535-STOP (7867). When reporting, be sure to include as many details as possible and contact information for potential follow up if a reward is sought.

“This is a tragic crime, brazen and unthinkable to have occurred in the middle of the afternoon much less during the holiday season,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge Christopher Amon of the Chicago Field Division. “We are dedicated to working closely with our law enforcement partners and CrimeStoppers to locate those responsible and are also appealing to the public to assist in their identification.”

The investigation is being conducted in coordination with ATF’s Crime Gun Intelligence Center of Chicago (CGIC). The CGIC is a centralized law enforcement hub that focuses exclusively on investigating and preventing gun violence in Chicago and throughout northern Illinois. The CGIC is an interagency collaboration that brings together - under one roof - local, state and federal law enforcement officers, prosecutors and intelligence analysts to move quickly to investigate and prosecute violent crimes.
