ATF Offers $5,000 Reward in Baton Rouge Arson Fires
ATF and Crimestoppers of Baton Rouge Seek Public's Help
NEW ORLEANS, LA. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) today announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information that will assist ATF special agents in the investigation into a string of deliberately set fires in Baton Rouge in 2019 and early 2020.
The ATF New Orleans Field Division is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for setting three fires along Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge. Crimestoppers of Baton Rouge is also offering a separate and independent reward for information.
In the early morning hours of July 7, 2019, an intentionally set fire destroyed Big Boys Toys, a tire and automotive store, at 10750 Florida Blvd. Several adjacent businesses were also damaged.
On September 3, 2019, just after midnight, a fire was set at M&A Tire Shop at 2645 Florida Blvd.
On January 6, 2020, around midnight, an intentionally set fire damaged Pelican Tire and Rims at 10715 Florida Blvd.
Investigators believe these fires, which are estimated to have caused more than $400,000 in total damages, are connected. They are asking for the public’s help in providing any information, including information related to events leading up to or immediately after the fires.
The ATF Baton Rouge Field Office and the Baton Rouge Fire Department are jointly investigating these crimes.
