ATF, NSSF Offer Reward in Gun Store Burglary

ATF and the Firearms Industry Seek Public's Help in Firearms Theft from Jonesboro FFL

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) New Orleans Field Division in conjunction with the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) today announced a combined reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons in the burglary of a gun store operator in Jonesboro, Arkansas this past weekend.

ATF New Orleans is offering a reward of up to $2,500, which will be matched by the NSSF of up to $2,500, for a total reward of up to $5,000. Crimestoppers of Jonesboro is also offering a cash reward for any information.

On May 3, 2020, at approximately 3:30 a.m., four unidentified suspects entered the Gee Street Pawn Shop, a federal firearm licensee (FFL), at 1101 South Gee Street, Jonesboro, Arkansas, by pushing in a window air conditioning unit, making entry into the building, and stealing multiple firearms. During entry, one of the suspects was injured. DNA evidence was collected from the scene and is now at the state laboratory being processed for identification. The suspects exited the store and fled in an unknown direction. Jonesboro PD officers were able to recover several guns that were dropped by the suspects as they fled the scene.

This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF, the trade association for the firearm industry, and ATF in which the NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearm retailers.

The ATF New Orleans Little Rock Field Office and the Jonesboro Police Department are jointly investigating this crime. Anyone with any information about these crimes should contact ATF at (888) ATF-TIPS (1-888-283-8477), the ATF New Orleans Little Rock Field Office at 501-324-6181, the Jonesboro Police Department at 870-935-5657, or Crimestoppers of Jonesboro at 870-935-7867.
