ATF and Firearms Industry Offer Reward of Up to $15,000 in Monroe Firearms Theft
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the National Shooting Sports Foundations, the trade association for the firearms industry, have announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a burglary occurring in Monroe today. ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000, which will be matched by both the NSSF and the Union County Crimestoppers for a total of up to $15,000.
Early this morning, a person or persons broke into Monroe Pawn and Gun, a federal firearms licensee, located at 1105 Skyway Drive. Multiple firearms were stolen during the break-in.
ATF is investigating this theft along with the Monroe Police Department. The reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.
