St. Louis, MO – Jherrica Dixon, 25, of Saint Louis, MO, pleaded guilty to five counts of carjacking, four counts of using a firearm in furtherance of those carjackings, and one count of using a firearm in furtherance of those carjackings where death resulted. Dixon appeared today before U.S. District Judge Ronnie L. White who accepted her plea and set her sentencing date for August 21, 2019.
According to the plea agreement, on at least five occasions, Dixon lured individuals to certain locations for allowing associates of hers to rob each individual of personal property and vehicles at gun point. In two of the five instances, the victims were shot. In the final instance on October 16, 2017, Jaz Granderson, a football coach at Desmet Jesuit High School was shot and killed during the course of the carjacking.
Each of the five-carjacking charges carries a maximum term of 15 years imprisonment. Dixon faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 10 years for each firearm charge, the sentences of which must be imposed consecutively to each other and the carjacking sentences. In determining the actual sentences, a judge is required to consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which provide recommended sentencing ranges.
The Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department and United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating this case, in coordination with the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office.
