United States Attorney Richard W. Moore of the Southern District of Alabama announced that Dewayne Alan Davis, 29, of Theodore, Alabama, was sentenced today on the charge of felon in possession of a firearm. Court documents reflect that Davis was reported to the police when he was walking down the street in a residential neighborhood with a rifle. During his supervision, Davis will undergo treatment for drug and alcohol abuse. The judge did not impose a fine, but ordered that Davis pay $100 in special mandatory assessments.
The case was investigated by the Mobile Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office by Assistant United States Attorney Gloria Bedwell.
