ATF Hosts Military, Federal, State & Local Law Enforcement for Post-Blast Investigative Techniques Course
LOS ANGELES–The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) will be hosting a Post-Blast Investigative Techniques course for military and law enforcement personnel. The weeklong course offers instruction in explosives identification, explosives effects, improvised explosives device (IED) component recognition and evidence collection. It is designed to teach a systematic method of investigating an explosion scene.
Thirty students will complete the 40-hour course culminating in the students processing a three vehicle post-blast scene. Students will use the training to supplement their skills and techniques in post-blast investigations to aid in apprehending and prosecuting bombers in Southern California and worldwide.
